Before 2016 ended, The Lady Lair’s owner sent me lovely message asking if she could send me her upcoming January 2017 subscription box in exchange for an honest review. Though I have such strong proclivity for this trend, I find that, personally, it is important to note that my reviews are limited only to bookish subscription boxes (for now)
What is the difference of this box compared to other boxes out there you may ask- The Lady Lair is a multi-interest subscription box where every month you get an array of items that will include literary/lifestyle merchandise, beauty or personal products, and other geekish items curated to come together under a pre-determined monthly theme (so, you get to decide before hand whether you want to subscribe the following month or not)
Okay, so, let’s talk about what I like about this box. I LOVE a nice, clean packaging, and this box gave me that. The items inside we’re neatly packed, which I thought could actually be a perfect gift to give since I don’t have to worry about re-packaging. Therefore, if I give a box to my sister, she’d top it by giving me a gift of equal value and worth haha- kidding!
Now, onto the fun, exciting part…goodies! January theme is Masquerade Ball. So, what literary theme reminds you of masquerade ball? Phantom of the Opera! And true to its theme, The Lady Lair provided us with thematic goodies starting with the book, Rose Blood by A.G Howard.
Here’s my full unboxing.
Other items included:
– hand painted masquerade mask
– Phantom of the Opera inspired tumbler by Down the Hatch Designs
– Cargo cosmetics lip gloss in Prague
– Six pack herbal tea candle set by Natures Court
Overall, I give The Lady Lair 4/5 stars and would definitely recommend it. This subscription box is essentially functional and practical. Every single item is of practical use, yes, including the masquerade mask, since you’ll never know when it’ll come handy and I love a good prop! The only thing stoping me from giving it a five is that not every box will include a book, BUT for those months, they will include book inspired items, poems, magazines etc. Still relatively worth it, yes?
So, I do hope you give their page a visit to learn more about The Lady Lair subscription box. Thank you again, The Lady Lair, for sending me this month’s box.
